I am a legal and political philosopher working on how AI reshapes rights, power and democratic life. Researcher and Lecturer at UTAMED (Málaga) and Associate Professor at PUC-Rio Law School. I advise public bodies and speak to academic and general audiences in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

AI ethics and governance. Fundamental rights impact assessment, human oversight, AI in health. Co-coordinator, with José Vida Fernández, of the White Paper on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Rights for Red.es (Carlos III University of Madrid).

 

Democracy and algorithmic power. Surveillance, facial recognition, “data necropolitics”, AI-free spaces.

 

Human dignity and human rights. A genealogy of human dignity from the Renaissance to Kant and nineteenth-century France, and what it means for rights today. From 2021 to 2023 I led HuDig19, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie project hosted by EHESS in Paris in partnership with the Columbia Center for Contemporary Critical Thought.
